About

Welcome to The Yellow Bookbag, a site created by a homeschooling husband and wife team.

The idea for this project was born when a well-meaning new mom walked into a local library. Armed with her canvas tote, but clueless as to where to start, she immediately felt overwhelmed by the rows and rows of shelves. She knew she wanted to read to her kids. However, she didn't want to read just any book. She was looking for books that had a deeper purpose, didn't compromise her Christian faith, and supported the values she wanted to teach her kiddos. To her surprise, far too many books did not align with this mom's idea of a good read, sometimes even at the preschool level. After countless trips to the library and quite a few misleading titles making their way into the house, the vision for this site became as clear as the God-given call to parent well.

The Yellow Bookbag has many features, including a resources page, book reviews done with a Biblical worldview in mind, an accurate book count for homeschooling record purposes, and many more that will be added as we go along.

But the heart of this project is to see the new mom or dad who may also be feeling overwhelmed and provide them with a safe place to start.

So, grab your Yellow Bookbag and a blanket. Your next read is just a page away.
